Course Duration: Three years
- Academic & Clinical Training: Integrated throughout the three-year program.
- Residency / Super-Specialty Training: Three years.
- Research / Thesis: Included according to the curriculum and requirements of the concerned university.
Eligibility Criteria
Completed an MD/MS or equivalent postgraduate medical qualification in the relevant specialty from a recognized university or institution.
Candidates must hold specialty registration with the Nepal Medical Council (NMC) or the medical council of their respective country, as applicable.
The required postgraduate qualification varies according to the chosen DM/MCH specialty. Candidates must fulfill the specialty-specific eligibility, experience and other admission requirements prescribed by the Medical Education Commission (MEC), Government of Nepal, for the respective admission year.

Availability of individual specialties and seats is subject to institutional approval and the MEC seat allocation for the respective admission year.
Entrance Test and Selection
The entrance examination for DM/MCH programs will be conducted by the Medical Education Commission (MEC), Government of Nepal, through the common entrance examination for DM/MCH/NBMS-SS programs.
Selection will be based on the candidate’s entrance examination performance, eligibility, merit/ranking and the MEC matching process, in accordance with the prevailing rules and guidelines.
