Diagnostic Services Radio-diagnosis & Imaging:

The Department of Radiology at Universal College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) is situated on the ground floor, precisely opposite the Emergency Room, accessible by proceeding straight from the ER.

The Radiology department offers the following services:

  • X-Ray, CT-Scan, MRI, USG (Digital X-Ray), DEXA Scan – available round-the-clock.
  • Digital Mammography with stereotactic biopsy.
  • Colour Doppler with flow studies.
  • Barium contrast studies.
  • Bedside X-Ray using the latest portable machine.

CLINICAL LABORATORY SERVICES UCMS hosts three distinct laboratories for conducting tests – Biochemistry and Microbiology labs located adjacent to the Emergency section on the ground floor, towards the right side upon entering the hospital through the main entrance; and the Pathology lab situated on the Ground Floor near the lifts, accessible by proceeding straight through the lobby and crossing the staircase and lifts. It is located towards the right side of the Reception/Billing Counters.

The laboratories offer tests encompassing Biochemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Haematology, Clinical Pathology, and Histopathology.

  • In the Biochemistry lab, all tests (including hormone assays) are performed daily on advanced fully Automatic Analyser and CLIA machines.
  • Modern Lab Information Software (LIS) with Sample Tracking System ensures accuracy in sample processing, test quality, and timely report delivery.

CARDIAC INVESTIGATIONS For patients requiring Cardiology services, UCMS provides the following investigation facilities:

  • ECG, Holter (24-hour ECG) & TMT (Treadmill).
  • 2-D Echocardiography.
  • Angiography with DSA (opening shortly).

Other diagnostic services: Apart from the aforementioned diagnostic services, UCMS also offers the following:

  • Gastroenterology: Endoscopy (both Upper & Lower GI, including Sigmoidoscopy & Colonoscopy).
  • ENT: Electronystagmography (ENG), Audiometry.
  • Chest Medicine: Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT).
  • Psychiatry/Neurology: EEG, EMG.
  • Dental X-Ray.
  • Peripheral and spinal angiography with DSA (opening shortly).
